I reflect on the unbearable pressure of war on those who are forced to endure it. I started working on these paintings shortly after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. I called this project "Nobody Returns from War" after an article that described the inevitable and irreversible changes in everyone that happened after the war. I ask myself the question - how do we co-exist with the new "we" and all those emotions that we were not prepared or equipped to experience.
